The women have gone from “Why are you here?” to now saying, with a huge hug around our necks, “Thank you for being here!”.
On average, it takes 2 years for women working in the adult entertainment industry (AEI) to learn to trust someone. And God has blown away that average.
Each week we show up.
Each week we show love.
Each week we look these women in the eyes and see them for who they are instead of what they are doing.
They are women, daughters, mothers, sisters, and friends. They are precious to our Savior.
Blessed by a grant from Groove Life back in October 2021, we were able to open our beautiful resource center – a safe haven – for the women we meet. They walk through our doors, and we watch their shoulders relax and their breathing slow.
They feel safe.
They know they are cared for.
They know we do not judge them.
They know they are loved.
And now, after 4 years of showing up in the clubs, we are walking closely with 20 women – even the pandemic couldn’t stop us! And in God’s goodness, He has allowed us to help 5 women leave the industry completely. And one of those women has given her life to the Lord!
William Carey (missionary to India and considered the father of the modern missions movement in the late 1700s) said to Andrew Fuller (his pastor friend in England): “I’ll go into the pit if you’ll hold the rope.” There are pit-goers and rope-holders. The church needs both!
We are actively praying that God will continue to bring us more pit-goers and rope-holders to join us in our mission to GO. Which one will you be?
